Configure SPF records to work with Trabian

The Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an open standard specifying a technical method to prevent email sender address forgery. SPF uses DNS records to store and propagate SPF information about your domain name.

When Trabian services send email on your behalf, it's important to have proper SPF records setup to allow Trabian to send email on your behalf.

To create an SPF record for your domain:

  1. Log in to the DNS admin console for your domain.
  2. Create a TXT record containing this text: v=spf1 ~all
  3. To authorize an additional mail server, such as your internal mail server, add the server's IP address before just before the ~all argument using the format ip4:address. (See Sender Policy Framework for more details on the format.)
  4. Make sure you save your changes. Keep in mind that DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate.
